There are many people that will tell you that learning Spanish will be a difficult thing for you to do, and if you believe in what they say, they will be right. Learning Spanish, or any other language for that matter, is something born of determination and persistence. If you really want to learn how to speak Spanish, you will.
The first question to ask yourself is why you want to learn Spanish. You must have a really good reason to do so, which is why a lot of older students find it easier than younger ones, because they have more at stake. Not wanting to flunk is a lousy reason. Why? You can always take the class again. But, needing to expand your clientele by learning how to speak Spanish is a terrific reason. If you don’t learn how, you’ll starve.
Good Spanish speakers are born out of persistence. You may be having a tough time getting your tongue to roll around the doubled r’s and l’s of the Spanish language. But, while you are at home with your computer, in the car singing along, or with your language tutor or teacher, who cares? Keep at it and one day your tongue is finally going to say it the right way.
Who cares if you make mistakes? Native Spanish speakers do, that’s why they study it in school! Be as persistent as they were and keep on trying until you get it right. And start talking to a native speaker. Why not trade? You can teach your partner to speak English, and your partner can teach you Spanish.
And don’t ever give up. Stick to your goals and keep at it until you succeed. Whether you speak Spanish fluently in a year or two or even in a decade will be up to you. RocketSpanishReview is the best recommendation for anybody to speak Spanish fluently.
